Thanks for all of your entries to the Laika artwork competition. The answer to the question posed was 1957 - and the five lucky winners are: Christian Leyens, Tobias Westphal, Kim Stevens, Stewart Morrison and Mark Barton. Well done!

Laika release their brilliant new album, 'Wherever I Am, I Am What Is Missing', in the UK this week on October 20th. The album is layered with feeling; from the wistful sweeping melodies of ‘Alphabet Soup’ to the dark, rolling hypnotic beats of ‘Fish For Nails’, Laika’s cool melodies, dub basslines and layers of sound compliment Margaret's entrancing vocals which weave effortlessly in and out of the mix. New Album
The new album from Laika is now finished and due for release October 20th. The album, entitled, 'Wherever I Am I Am What Is Missing', after a poem by Mark Strand contains 10 new songs recorded and mixed by the band. A video is currently being animated for the first single, 'Alphabet Soup', and live dates finalised for the album release, more soon.

Lost in Space

Released January 27th, Laika's 2CD retrospective, 'Lost in Space', will be followed by a short run of European dates. The first of the 2CD collection, drawing from the bands previous 3 albums, features singles and album tracks whilst the second disc focuses on rare live recordings and remixes. Meanwhile work continues apace on the the bands fourth, currently untitled, studio album.

Compilation

'Guy and Margaret are currently slaving away in the home studio on their fourth album proper, the follow up to the immaculate ‘Good Looking Blues’. Delayed somewhat by Margaret’s touring duties with erstwhile too pure artist PJ Harvey, an interim collection of past Laika recordings entitled ‘Lost in Space’ will be released in September and should satisfy fans and the curious alike, more details soon.
